General House Meeting 10 November 2025

A meeting of the General House of the Lahore Bar Association was held today, Monday, 10 November 2025, at 11:30 AM in Aiwan-e-Adal’s main auditorium. The meeting was presided over by President Lahore Bar Association, **Mr. Mubashir Rehman Chaudhary**, along with other office-bearers and senior members of the legal community.
The meeting was attended by **former President Lahore High Court Bar Association Mr. Chaudhary Ishtiaq A. Khan**, **former President Punjab Bar Council Mr. Rana Asif Mehmood**, **Chairman Executive Committee Punjab Bar Council Mr. Arif Alvi**, and many other senior lawyers. During the meeting, the house strongly condemned the **tragic incident of 27 October 2025** in which a lawyer was subjected to severe violence in Lahore. The participants expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and emphasized that lawyers have always stood for the protection of human rights and the supremacy of the law.
Speakers at the meeting highlighted that the **incident of 27 October** was not only an attack on an individual lawyer but also an attack on the dignity of the entire legal fraternity. They demanded from the government and law enforcement agencies that immediate and effective action be taken against the culprits. They warned that if justice is not served, the legal community would be compelled to adopt a harsher stance.
Addressing the meeting, **President Lahore Bar Association Mubashir Rehman Chaudhary** stated that when the government itself becomes responsible for injustice, lawyers cannot remain silent spectators. He further said that it is the duty of the legal fraternity to protect the Constitution, human rights, and the independence of the judiciary. He made it clear that if the culprits involved in the **incident of 27 October** are not arrested, the Lahore Bar Association will call for a **province-wide strike** and initiate further protest actions.
The **Lahore Bar Association** demanded that those responsible for the incident of **27 October** be arrested immediately and brought to justice. Until that happens, the Bar will continue to raise its voice against this injustice and oppression.
